HandwriterAI uses your own scanned glyphs with multiple variants per character, plus baseline drift, ink-density variation, occasional skipped strokes, and slight per-letter rotation. It is built to look hand-written, not type-set.

You can start right away with one of the built-in handwriting styles. To use your own, you fill in a one-page template with every letter, digit, and symbol, once each, then photograph it back into the app. It slices your sheet into individual glyphs and builds your personal set. It takes a few minutes, and you only do it once.

Yes. Inline math goes between $...$ and display math between $$...$$, rendered glyph-by-glyph in the same handwriting as the prose. No separate computer-modern font intruding mid-page. Tables and diagrams (charts, free-body diagrams, geometry, number lines) are supported too.

English and other Latin-script languages like French, Spanish, and German work today. The renderer is glyph-based, so any character present in your set will render. Right-to-left scripts (Arabic, Hebrew) are next; CJK isn't supported yet.

One submission, whether typed or pasted text or one photographed problem, no matter how many pages it produces, up to your plan's page cap (10 pages on Free, 50 on Pro). Re-rendering the same submission to get a different variant doesn't spend a new document; you get three re-renders on each.

On Free, you'll see a prompt to upgrade. On Pro, new renders pause until your monthly allowance resets. Either way nothing is lost. Your documents and handwriting set stay exactly where they are.

It depends on what you submit, where you submit it, and that institution's policies. HandwriterAI can both solve a problem and hand-write the result, so for graded work treat it the way you'd treat any AI assistant: only use it where your school explicitly allows it. You are responsible for following the rules of anywhere you submit work. Many uses raise no issue at all, like lecture notes, personal letters, or drafting your own writing in your own hand.

Possibly, if they look closely. Renders are designed to look like real handwriting, but they are not undetectable forensic forgeries. We make no guarantee of non-detection and recommend using HandwriterAI only where its use is permitted.

Your handwriting scans and any photos you upload are stored privately, tied to your account, and used only to produce your documents. We never share or sell them. See our privacy policy for the full data-handling details.

Yes. From the settings page you can request account deletion. We hold the request in a 30-day grace window, so a misclicked delete is recoverable, then permanently purge your scans, uploaded photos, rendered PDFs, and profile data.
