Refund Policy

1. Subscriptions

Subscriptions (currently the Pro plan at $9.99/month) renew automatically each billing period. You can cancel any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and you keep access until then. We don’t pro-rate or partially refund the unused portion of a billing period.

If you were charged in error, charged twice, or charged after a successful cancellation, email support@handwriter.app within 14 days of the charge and we’ll refund in full.

2. Top-up packs

Top-up packs (Small, Medium, Large) are one-time purchases that grant document credits to your account. Because credits are delivered immediately on payment and may be partially consumed before any refund is requested, packs are non-refundable except in the cases below:

  • The pack was charged but credits never appeared on your account due to a system error.
  • The pack was purchased on a duplicate or fraudulent transaction.
  • You purchased a pack within the last 24 hours and have not used any of the credits.

In those cases, email support and we’ll process a full refund.

3. Failed renders

If a render fails for a reason on our side, the document allowance used to start that render is automatically refunded to your monthly counter (or back to your top-up balance if that’s where the charge came from). You don’t need to email us — this is handled by the system.

A render that completes but produces output you don’t like is not a system failure and is not eligible for an automatic refund. You can re-render the same document up to three times to get a different variant. If you believe the output is faulty in a way the system didn’t catch, send us a copy and we’ll review.

4. How to request a refund

Email support@handwriter.app from the address tied to your account. Include the date of the charge and, if possible, the Polar receipt or order ID. Eligible refunds are processed within 5 business days and land on the original payment method.

5. Disputes

We’d much rather solve a problem by email than via chargeback. If you initiate a chargeback before contacting us, we will pause your account while the dispute resolves; contacting us first is faster for everyone.
